About Laura Hochban

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, lost, and unsure of how to move forward. Whether you're navigating a life transition, grieving a loss, experiencing relationship difficulties, or carrying the weight of past trauma, it can be hard to face these experiences and to get “unstuck.” Therapy could be the opportunity you’re looking for to help you break free of old patterns, discover new insights, learn skills, and enter the next phase of your life with courage and resilience. It is never too late to rediscover your strengths or to build a life that aligns with your values!

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and psychotherapist-in-training, I offer a warm, collaborative space where we will explore your story with care and curiosity. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection — with ourselves, with our culture, and with others. I aim to support you in making sense of life’s messiness and in moving toward greater clarity, peace, and self-compassion. Our work together will move at your pace and will focus on what matters to you.

My background includes years in advocacy, peer counselling, and perinatal support, where I supported individuals and couples in crisis, including those impacted by intimate partner violence and coercion, addiction, bereavement, and systemic injustice. These experiences shape my integrative approach (informed by CBT, ACT, somatic experiencing, narrative therapy, and emotionally-focused work) and my passion for empowering women and gender minorities to find their voices and thrive despite adversity. As an Asian-Canadian, cisgender, bi/pan individual, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life, including trans and other LGBTQ2S+ folks.

If you’re looking for a therapy experience rooted in empathy, attunement, and humour, I invite you to connect with me. I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey.
