About Laura Hochban

Individual and Couples, Perinatal Mental Health, Grief, Life Transitions, Anxiety, Trauma, LGBTQ2S+

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, lost, and unsure of how to move forward. Therapy could be the opportunity you’re looking for to help you discover new insights, learn skills, and enter the next phase of your life with courage and resilience.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and psychotherapist-in-training, I offer a warm, collaborative space where we will explore your story with care and curiosity. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection — with ourselves, with our culture, and with others.

I have a special affinity for working with:
- Survivors of gender-based violence, including sexual assault and abuse in families and relationships;
- University students and professionals navigating life, identity, work, and relationship pressures;
- Couples and family members who want to break free of repeating harmful patterns in their relationship.

Our work together will move at your pace and will focus on what matters to you. Modalities that may inform our process include: traumatic memory processing, cognitive restructuring (CBT), values
clarification (ACT), somatics (body work), nervous system regulation, and fostering secure relationship connections (EFT). I am working toward certification in EMDR and would be happy to explore this with you as treatment for trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, or grief.

As an Asian-Canadian, cisgender, bi/pan individual, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life, including trans and other LGBTQ2S+ folks.

If you’re looking for support rooted in empathy, attunement, and humour, I invite you to connect with me. I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey.
