Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a specialized form of psychotherapy that focuses on processing and resolving emotional trauma, stress, and other issues. Unlike traditional talk therapy, brainspotting relies on the brain-body connection to access and release deep-seated emotions, sensations, and memories.

How does Brainspotting work?

  1. Spotting: During a brainspotting session, a trained therapist helps you identify specific points in your field of vision, known as "brainspots." These spots can be activated by focusing your gaze on them.

  2. Body Sensations: As you focus on a brainspot, your brain and body start to react. You might experience physical sensations, emotions, or memories surfacing.

  3. Processing: The therapist guides you through exploring these sensations and emotions, allowing you to process and release them. This process can lead to healing and resolution of past traumas or emotional difficulties.

BrainSpotting uses the power of focused attention, eye positions, and the body's physical responses to access and address deep emotional issues that may be affecting a person's well-being. It aims to help individuals release emotional baggage and find healing and resolution in a client-centered and supportive therapeutic environment.

Benefits of Brainspotting:

  1. Non-verbal: Brainspotting doesn't require extensive talking, making it suitable for individuals who struggle to identify and express their emotions verbally.

  2. Holistic: It addresses the mind-body connection, recognizing that emotions and trauma can manifest physically.

  3. Long-lasting Results: Many people report lasting improvements after a series of brainspotting sessions.
