About Ana Miura Haddad
Anxiety, Burnout, Depression, Grief and Mourning, Life Transitions, Chronic Stress, Parents and Caregivers
Life transitions, ongoing stress, and experiences of loss can leave you feeling off‑course in ways that are hard to put into words. They can show up in your body, mood, relationships, and sense of self, and you may notice that you no longer feel like yourself. In therapy, I aim to offer a steady, grounded space where we can listen closely to what you are carrying, make sense of how past and present are connected, and support you in moving toward what feels most authentic and right for you—you know yourself best.
My clinical interests include working with adults and older adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, grief and mourning, chronic stress, or major life transitions. I also have a particular interest in supporting parents—including new parents, seasoned parents, and sandwich‑generation caregivers—as they navigate the emotional layers of caring for others while trying to stay connected to themselves. Finally, with over two decades in the music and arts community, I bring a nuanced understanding of the unique stresses and identities of people working in creative fields.
My approach integrates contemporary psychodynamic and attachment theories, a biopsychosocial perspective, and Internal Family Systems, along with practical tools from CBT and solution‑focused work when they are helpful. In practice, this means we may explore how early experiences and relational patterns shape your current struggles, while also paying attention to present‑moment sensations in the body and to the broader social and cultural context of your life. I view social location and intersectionality as central to mental health and am committed to ongoing cultural awareness and self‑reflection. I strive to offer an affirming, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ clients, and I welcome people of all sexual orientations and gender identities into my practice.
Clients tend to experience me as warm, open, and nonjudgmental. I am collaborative and reflective, and I invite us to move at a pace that feels safe for you as we bring what has been in the shadows into the light with care and curiosity.
