About Masood

I am a multilingual (English, Pashto/Dari, Hindi/Urdu) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) individual therapy in person and virtually. I am currently completing my Master's student placement.

I work with adults from all backgrounds in an inclusive and welcoming environment. I support my clients in exploring their past and present issues to identify what is contributing to their struggles. Together, we can aim to work on addressing the root cause of any issues as well as develop more skills to better manage their current impact. I work with people struggling with ADHD, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), issues in personal and professional relationships, and depression. In addition, I have a keen interest in supporting people through multicultural issues such as cultural identity, systemic discrimination, and racism.

My clinical work includes a few different modalities, and I tailor them to suit each client. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, amongst others that are encompassed in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strength-based frameworks.

In the past I have worked with individuals on the autism spectrum, down-syndrome, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. I also volunteered at the Ottawa Distress Centre providing support to those in crisis. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I completed my undergrad in Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, and am currently on track to completing my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work under the supervision of Renee Lemieux while completing my graduate program requirements. I have also received my certificate in ASIST suicide prevention and intervention training.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space for my clients where healing can take place. I will attempt to help you heal through deep self-understanding, genuine connection, trust, and collaboration. I invite you to join me on your journey in trying to identify issues that are getting in your way towards healing and growth.
