I am a multilingual (English, Pashto/Dari, Hindi/Urdu) psychotherapist-in-training offering individual therapy in person and virtually.
I work with adolescents (14+), and adults from all backgrounds and strive to provide a safe and accepting environment. I support my clients in exploring their past and revealing key patterns that they may not be aware of, so they can begin to take back control over their emotions and be excited about the positive changes in their lives. I work with individuals struggling with ADHD, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), issues in personal and professional relationships, and depression. I also work with couples that are presenting with relationship issues including communication issues, infidelity, traumatic life events, and troubles with intimacy.
My clinical work is inspired by a few different modalities, and I tailor them to specific clients. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, amongst others that are encompassed in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strength-based frameworks. I am also on track to be trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
In the past I have worked with individuals on the autism spectrum, down-syndrome, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. I also volunteered at the Ottawa Distress Centre providing support to those in crisis. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I completed my undergrad in Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, and am currently on track to completing my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have also received my certificate in ASIST suicide prevention and intervention training.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space for my clients where healing can take place. Healing through deep self-understanding, genuine connection, trust, and collaboration. I invite you to join me in identifying issues that are getting in your way of healing and collaboratively finding the right solutions for you.
