About Kristy-Ann
You might be tired of feeling disconnected, numb, alone, or constantly worried. Or you might be going over painful memories time after time and still feeling bothered. Maybe you are feeling ‘not good enough’ or ‘too much’, or stuck in a pattern of toxic relationships that leaves you hurt and confused. Maybe you experience a longing for closeness, a desire for consistency, a need for autonomy, or a craving for freedom. Do you often wonder, ‘how did I get here? or why am I like this?’ leading you to a state of uncertainty and a yearning for change but questioning how?
As humans, our unique combination of genetics, environment, lived experiences, and relationships play a role in who we are, making us perfectly imperfect. In therapy, we slow down and take some time to explore what is within. To uncover past experiences that link to present issues. To better understand how your patterns came to be. Most importantly, to connect with what feels authentic to you and allowing space to shift what not longer serve you.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, complex trauma/PTSD, burnout, depression, or relationship issues, you do not have to figure it out alone. I am a bilingual (English & French) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) offering individual and couples’ counselling both in person and virtually.
I work with adults (18+) seeking to enhance their well-being and deepen their understanding of themselves. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment for clients to explore, learn, process, and heal at their own pace. My integrative approach is warm and curious yet gently challenging to encourage growth. I practice various therapies including psychodynamic, attachment-based, EMDR, somatic, CBT, and DBT. My hopes are that our work together will foster growth, healing, and connection (with self & others).
My previous experience in social services field include offering case management services, counselling, emotional support, and crisis intervention at a local women’s shelter and non-profit organizations such as Ottawa Victim Services. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am an EMDR Therapist and a member of EMDR Canada. I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. My varied work and education help me relate to and work with individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds, the LGBTQ2+ community, and a variety of mental health struggles.
I am here to support and assist in lightening the hefty weight you’ve been carrying all this time. If you feel like we may be a good fit, I invite you to book a free 20-minute virtual consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
