About Kristy

I am a bilingual (English & French) psychotherapist-in-training offering individual and couples’ counselling both in person and virtually.

 

I work with adolescents (15+), adults from diverse backgrounds, and proudly support the LGBTQ2+ community. I strive to provide an inclusive space for all clients I have the privilege of working with. I work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, and ADHD. I can also help with issues surrounding attachment issues, stress, burnout, life transitions, and grief. Additionally, I work with couples struggling with various interpersonal and intimacy issues such as feelings of disconnection, recurring conflicts, infidelity, trust issues.

 

I use a person-centered and integrative approach. I try to tailor my therapeutic approach to best fit my client’s needs. I support my clients in processing their experiences and deepening their understanding of themselves and their relationships. I offer a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients to explore their experiences. Collaboratively, I hope to help my clients heal, grow, and attain their desired goals.

 

I have previous experience in social services field offering case management services, counselling, emotional support, and crisis intervention at a local women’s shelter and non-profit organizations such as Ottawa Victim Services. I also have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also an EMDR Therapist. I possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and I am currently in the process of completing my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. My varied work and education help me relate to and work with individuals from all walks of life, backgrounds, and mental health struggles.

 

I am an empathetic, genuine, and trustworthy psychotherapist intern with previous experience in the social services field. I believe a vital part of counselling is being heard and understood.
