About Renée

I am a bilingual Registered Psychotherapist offering individual and family therapy with over 10 years of experience.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, challenging life transitions, grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep difficulties, and stress and anger management. Since 2007, I have been specializing in treating various forms of trauma, both recent and past, with a broad spectrum of clients. I believe traumas are a result of events, big or small, that leave a lasting emotional and psychological impact. We often hear of the 'big' traumas, but every day events such as bullying, childhood neglect, rejection, or a medical diagnosis can all have a traumatic effect on a person.

In addition to my work in private practice, I have worked in the non-profit sector offering psychotherapy to newcomers and vulnerable people. I provided crisis intervention and long-term therapy to individuals suffering from pre and post-migration challenges, transgenerational issues, integration difficulties, and PTSD. I offered psychotherapy to victims of war trauma, torture, political persecution, and sexual assault. Working with this clientele and an internationally trained team of clinicians, has helped me develop a global understanding of and a broader approach to treating mental health issues.

I am an interactive, client-centred therapist. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and address personal life challenges.

I am a graduate of the University of Ottawa's counselling program. I hold a Master of Education in Educational Counselling (2008), a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology (2005), and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (2003).

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I am also a Certified EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a member of EMDR Canada.

About Tina

Life can be tough sometimes; the good thing is you do not need to do it all by yourself. We will work collaboratively to get you inspired and with an arsenal of positive coping tools. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches from a multicultural framework. By integrating several therapeutic lenses, I can tailor the therapy to suit your needs as we work together to attain your goals.

I work with adolescents (14+) and adults from all backgrounds in a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment with a goal to understand your worldview and your experiences in it.

Previously, I have worked with adults in homeless shelters experiencing difficult life transitions and those struggling with addictions. I also work with youth who have behavioral issues in a mental health rehabilitation center. I am in the process of completing my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and possess a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Based on my experiences and education, I have garnered an empathetic perception of the uniqueness of each individual’s life struggles.

I am a caring, trustworthy, and nonjudgmental psychotherapist with several years’ experience working in the social services field. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and my role as your therapist is to serve as a guide as you work towards your goals.

I invite you to contact me today as you embark on your healing journey.
